Heavenly

Yummy...absolutely amazing! These overnight cinnamon rolls were an early Valentine's treat. My little helper, Abby, is taste-testing the powdered sugar....yup, it's sweet!!!!
Final product!
And notice the cool cookbook stand I got this week from an amazon gift card. Hopefully, no more spills on to my cookbooks.

Happy Meal

Today Abby had her very first Happy Meal at McDonalds.  Gone are the days when the meal came in a little cardboard box - now it is just a paper bag.   There are also tons of choices - I went healthy on her and got the apples and milk instead of fries and a soda.   We entered the kids play area - both of our eyes wide trying to take it all in.  Abby ate her whole hamburger and just waved at people as they went by.   After the hamburger, she started getting antsy.  I let her down to "go play".   At first, she just watched the other kids run around.   Then she found the staircase tube.  Up, up, up she went.   As kids went by her, she kept going and following them.  I lost all visual contact.   I figured she found the tube that went across into the next play area and sure enough, out of the hanging helicopter, I hear a small, sweet voice saying "hi....mama....hi".   I was glad she was having fun but my heart was beating so hard inside.   "Would she be able to come back down?  Would she fall?  Would the bigger kids push her over?   What if she starts crying and thinks she is stuck?  What would I do with Silas?  Would someone steal Silas while I am trying to get Abby?"   (Yes, my imagination is still in overdrive).    Finally, she started coming down and when I called her name, she just started crying.   One kid wanted to help by pulling her down the stairs.....ughhh.   Once she was out, hands cleaned, tears wiped away, Abby had a yummy cookie and all was well.

Agogo comes to visit!!!!

My mom came in just the nick of time! She was such a great help as we moved up to Goodyear and then as we unpacked. She spent a lot of the time holding the babies. I don't know how I would ever have gotten 'settled' without her help.
Abby loves being outside, dancing and playing. This is her new wagon which she also adores.

Getting settled

We've been in our new home now for just over two weeks. The boxes are unpacked and pictures are hung on the wall. It is home :) Abby already knows where everything is and how things work in the new place. She also has a unique ability to find every piece of trash left in the back yard by the previous owner. She's found an old Toystory doll, a blade, paper, and dog doodoo. We also have a play park just another house down from us. She loves playing outside. Today, she ran to the door and said "Let's go!!!".
Silas continues to grow and grow. The last few mornings, he's been smiley. It's hard for me to capture it on film because he usually smiles when I am in his face with my face. Another little bit of news is that he is actually and finally taking a paci. He's fussy a lot and this is making all of our lives a bit calmer.

Internship FAQs

Where are you moving to this time?
We are moving to Goodyear, AZ which is in the southwest valley of Phoenix.  This is right next to Buckeye.  Goodyear is right in the middle of where we will be doing ministry.

What is the internship?
Paul has accepted an internship with King of Kings PCA.  This is a recent church plant and Paul will be working with their pastor, Josh Hahne.   He will be learning a lot about what it takes to plant a church and how to best love and pastor in the community.   Paul will be preaching at least once a month; more if other churches in the area need him.  He will also be studying for licensure within the presbytery.

How long will you be in Goodyear?
As of right now, the internship will be for 7 months - through August.

When will you be moving?
Hopefully next week.  We are waiting on a rental house so as soon as that is available, we are making plans to go up there.

Is the internship full-time?
No.  Paul is also job hunting and looking for part-time work.  He also does web design so if you or someone you know needs his services, let us know  :)

What will you do after the internship?
We don't know yet.  Paul will be looking at current churches that need a pastor as well as looking into church planting.

Aren't you tired of moving around?
Yes!  But I am thankful that my husband is following the Lord's call on his life even though it's not the smoothest path (from our viewpoint).   We long to be settled somewhere and trust that God is using each move, each experience to further prepare us for ministry.

How can we pray for you?
1)  That God might use this season as a time to grow our family in learning ministry.
2)  For the transitions for Abby.  I think it's been really hard on her and she doesn't understand everything that is going on.   That she become settled once we move.
3)  For relationships in our new community.
4)  For financial provision - either through support or a job for Paul.

6 weeks

Silas was 6 weeks old yesterday.  Time is flying fast already although I can't believe I have gone this long with such little sleep.   He is growing fast and gaining weight like crazy.  On Dec 29th, he weighed 8 lbs even.  I can only imagine what he weighs now - at the rate he was going, it was a pound a week.

We have moved down to Tucson and are living with Paul's parents for a bit.   I am SO thankful for the warm weather while the rest of the US freezes.  It's been 65 the whole week and I am lovin' it.

Abby is slowly adjusting after all the moving around.  Honestly, she's had a hard time - a whole new side of her has come out, one that is not so pretty.   Paul and I have been put to the test with her tantrums.
