30 Weeks!!!

Disclaimer:  Paul was on the floor taking this shot and so I look like a giant.  Notice my head at the ceiling and how small the desk looks in comparison.   But vanity, vanity...I don't want to get out of my pj's yet so we'll go with these pics.

Today is 30 weeks!   Gettin' close and only God knows how close this time.  With Abby being 5 weeks early, I am a little anxious about the timing of this delivery.  My friend, Allison, just had a baby and God's timing was incredible.   I am taking comfort in that and knowing that God is sovereign over this baby... and the weather...and the drive down the mountain....someone taking care of Abby, etc.

Me and my sweet little girl.   She loves pens and is always "stealing" them off of desks much to Paul's chagrin.   It used to be me "stealing" the pens but now, there is another suspect.

My little girl is growing up

Abby will be 18 months in just a couple weeks. She's losing that "baby look" and becoming a young girl. (Especially when I put her hair in pigtails and her feet in stylin' boots). Sorry no shots of her smiling but we took what we could get with a sleepy little one. Thanks Mom for the cute outfit!

Fun Times

Abby's first fort.  I came home from bible study to find "this" in my apartment.  At first I thought Paul and Abby would be hiding from me in the fort (they were actually out for a walk).   It made me happy to think of Abby and her daddy playing in the fort.     Unfortunately, Abby hit her head on the table more than not.  :(

Some friends brought over this rocking horse for Abby to play with (thank you Wilkes!)   She's had such a ball on it already.   As she rides back and forth, she says "Whoo!   Whoo!".  Sometimes, she even throws one arm in the air.   I guess she was watching when we took her to the rodeo earlier this summer. 

Sweet Things

Last week at our potluck we had breakfast for dinner. These were the yummy donuts that Paul and I made. They are pretty easy and taste mmmm so good. Next time, I want to try to make the donuts that require yeast. I wonder if they will taste very different.

At that same potluck, a friend made heart-shaped coffee cake. So on Saturday when I couldn't sleep at 4am, I decided to try the same thing. Not so much "heart" shaped but definitely very good. I might have to make it again so that I can practice.

My sweet little girl spending some time "reading". She really LOVES her chair and was just completely content to sit and read. I love how she sounds like she's really telling a story as she turns the pages.

Baby Quilt

I just finished this quilt on Sunday in time for my friend's baby shower. I had the greatest of intentions of getting several done this summer but time just slipped away. Allison's theme is "under the sea" so you can see the water world in the main square. Underneath is an "up-close" pic of the fabrics. My mom is also working on this same pattern for a quilt for baby Mourreale. I can't wait to see what ours will look like. As for me, I think my sewing days will be few and far between in the next few months. Some day.....(when I can leave my sewing stuff up and out of the way, when my children aren't needy 24/7, when....)

Snow on the first day of autumn!

Ah!  The first day of autumn.   Usually I think of pumpkins, leaves turning beautiful colors, picking apples, thanksgiving, but today made me think of Christmas.  I almost turned on Christmas music; it felt so festive.   The temperature dropped through the day and by afternoon was snowing.  Since Monday, we've had snow every day and right now, it is snowing once again.  Beautiful and cold!!!  Abby loved being outside and tromping through the snow.

Random Moments

Last night we had a birthday party for a friend. I made a cake that had chocolate and coffee in it and of course, Abby had some. Well, time for night-night and guess who could not go to sleep? I was actually lying in bed about to go to sleep when I heard her chatting away. I looked over at her side of the room and she had pulled the curtain back and was peeking out - why do they always have to be so cute at times like this?
Paul has a theory that we all have some OCD tendencies - some fewer than others, but anyway, Abby has a few. Like shutting doors, drawers and pushing the chairs in. So earlier in the evening with our friends, she shut the bathroom door. Only problem was that their little 4 year old girl was in the bathroom and the lights were not on. There are no windows in our tiny bathroom and so the little girl was very scared. The lights are on the outside of the room too! Thankfully all was well with a bit of cake :)

This outfit was a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Mourreale. So cute!!!! I had Abby wear it on Wednesday when Paul had to preach in chapel. It made him smile! You can't really see it in the picture, but I had Abby's hair back in a red ponytail. I think she looks older when her hair is back. Also, she is wearing real shoes. Normally she wears her robeez (like moccasins) all the time. She was pretty funny trying to clump around in them.

Abby loves to mimic whatever we are doing including brushing her teeth. She was constantly on the move last night so this pic is a bit blurry.
